She was here for one week, but she fit a whole month’s worth of activities into her short time here. She drove us to the beach one day, went on a hike with us another, and spent a day packing up her belongings to move back to Georgia. She did tons of other stuff, too, but I couldn’t keep up with her! Gigi, my sweet sister, thank you for coming and spending a week with us! I miss you already and my heart is lonely knowing you won’t be living eight minutes away to pop in for dinner every week. However, I am comforted knowing you are content where God has you right now and so grateful for all He is doing in your life. Thank you for everything. I love you!

TANK! Tank and Raven I had to put Tank somewhere to sleep while we made the couch into a bed so I put him in Raven’s bed with her… and thankfully neither of them minded! It was great fun having the baby dog here for a week! Hiking in Big Sky with Gigi and the Jones’ The big boys were constantly ahead of the rest of us! Ah! the top! Looking out over a cliff where you can see a rusty old crashed truck at the bottom. Gigi carried Ian the whole hike! Thanks SO much! the little boys, thinking about how close they can get to the edge. ;-/ Gigi took this of Misty and I with our babies and this one of just us. I think it’s our only picture together! and Seth took this one of Gigi and I together! Ian watching Skyler being put in his backpack Back on the trail after a picnic at the top Audrey walking with Gigi and giving her flowers Jerome…waving us on? running up another hill Jerome and Wesley taking in the view and out distancing the rest of us! mustard hedges one more hill and almost to the end. A gorgeous day for a hike! When we got home Seth changed into his Spiderman and enjoyed a visit with Tank. and Gigi got ready for a photoshoot with me! We both put this off for too long! It was so fun photographing you, Gigi! you, too, Tank! You are stunning and beautiful inside and out! I thank God for what He’s doing in your life and for making us SISTERS! May you always know that I love you that you are a precious daughter of God and that you can always make me laugh! <mwah!> we already miss you and your Tankalank! Thanks for the visit!

Last Friday Peter invited the boys and I to drive out to Westlake and hike with him on his lunch break. It’s a real treat to see Daddy during the day so we packed a lunch and jumped in the car for the 40 minute drive out. Jane met us at the trail head as she works just down the road…

Out of the car! And immediately climbing a rock. The big boys wanted to climb trees, so Peter helped them up. and down again it was a fun bucket seat where a limb used to be before jumping down both boys got to study the tree they were sitting in…as it was riddled with woodpecker holes that were filled with nuts. Cammomile grew on the trail and sent up a delicious scent as we walked over it. Another hiker passed us and Ian followed his dog all the way down part of the hill he had just climbed. The owner let him pet his dog which thrilled Ian! Looking back Peter wanted to show us the wildflowers… so I took my macro and I’m so glad I did. There were golden fields… of these little yellow flowers. We tried to look them up in a fieldguide but couldn’t identify them. Golden waves Anyone know what these lovelys are? discovering a flower for Mommy! a picnic spot! I’m coming! prietnova appatita! Ian would sit on Daddy’s feet, then Mommy’s feet. brothers lunching on a rock on the trail again rolling hills crowning field of gold Seth munching an apple and hiking a path through the gold purple frame path purple white miner’s lettuce yum! Jerome hiking with a teddy bear and Seth hiking with an apple We turned around here to head back Daddy with his boys blue rays :-) golden smiles Seth pink and yellow fuscia fireworks Seth plopped down for a little rest after a big climb he took in the beauty and a breather and was ready to get up and finish the hike. Back to the beginning. Thank you for the beautiful hike, Peter! Now for the drive home. and look who was there when we got home! Gigi! and she brought her baby dog Tank! whom we all enjoyed and adore!

I know it’s a mundane subject, and a wee bit too personal, but look at the light! I love how the wind and sun are caught up! An all afternoon rubberband war between the boys and their Daddy. The sofa was sacrificed for barricade material, and Ian’s in the line of fire. I think Peter actually got some studying in between shots. :-) “Smile! You’re on Candid Camera!” He/She was eating something right outside our livingroom window where we enjoyed watching it. until it disappeared and started digging again. Here’s Jerome’s big news! He is thrilled that his big tooth is already growing in where he lost the first one. :-)

Donna invited me up to her nest to photograph her two week old daughter the beginning of March, and the privilege lingers.

She’s graciously letting me share my glimpse of their new blessing. Thank you, Donna, for letting me photograph your beautiful little ones as well as yourself. I love you!

Since the beach was right across the road from the trail head, and we were already there…

running to the ocean right after our six mile hike. Ah! cool waters for hot feet. woah. :-) Seth and Jerome Seth would plop down in the water when a wave washed up. He looks so small and unafraid Jerome’s…surfing? I like the feel of this one. the wide angle was good, but I wanted to zoom in to see the boys better, so I went back to get my zoom… and came back to a welcome! Seth had been asking to go to the beach now for weeks! He was so thrilled to be there experiencing the waves and sand he could hardly contain himself! this expression sums it up. While Seth was absorbed in watching and playing… and digging… Jerome was getting buried in sand! Ian tried to help but got sand in poor Jerome’s eyes. Seth enjoying the warm sand oh, so much! Our sweet dog. getting sweet loves. ha! he cracks me up. heading back to the car Ian decides he likes the beach :-) the sand, that is. He’s blowing kisses at me because we were saying goodbye to the beach. It doesn’t get much better than sand with a stick… that is, unless you like to eat it. Last look at the ocean. a beautiful end to a wonderful day!
