Donna told me today that this is the fourth anniversary of their engagement. My! How short the years seem, and yet such full years they have been!

I remember running out to meet them as they came back from their engagement dinner…seeing her sparkely heirloom ring in the starshine for the first time and smothering Scott in an ecstatic hug and laughing and laughing. I might have been more excited than they, it’s hard to tell. 🙂

Scott and Donna, you have been a constant blessing to our little family. You are so giving of your time and resources, always uplifting in your advice and direction, and your encouragement and love toward us has been so very appreciated. I know I’ve said it before, but I love watching you two together as a married couple! Happy four year engagement!

And I have to post some pictures because I love them!

 The Sunday after their engagement.

It was the day Seth woke up with a cough and a low grade fever that we saw the rainbow. Right outside our front door, it seemed. “What is a rainbow, Mama?” “Where does it land?” “What colors can you see?” and “Why is it going away?”, were some of the questions I had to know the answers to. It was really beautiful and vivid and bright. Made the rain seem gracious, and gave us an opportunity to talk about God’s promises.

Seth’s fever has been high since that night and only goes down when we give him Tylenol to sleep at night. He has been so sweet and patient, and has thanked God for the rainbow every night when we put him to bed! And I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve read his Tonka truck book. I guess since he can’t be out digging in the mud the next best thing is to think about it!

Watching the first of the rain come down. The sunshine through the rain. This is the view from my bedroom window. First look at the rainbow. It’s not a good picture, but I love their faces! It’s a double rainbow! He dropped off to sleep with his chin in one hand and a roll in the other.

Grandma has been so very kind to be available to take Jerome to Sparks last evening as well as bring a big pot of her delicious soup for our dinner, and then taking Jerome to the dentist for me today. Jerome had a sore spot between his teeth and begged me to make an appointment for him at the dentist’s and asked Grandma to take him! Thankfully it was only a popcorn kernel stuck where Mommy couldn’t floss it out, and he also has directions to stay away from crunchy food, which is quite a blow to the little man, because he’s getting his six year molars in! My, how boys do grow.

Ian is crawling around the house and getting faster every day! He loves to stand up holding on to the chairs, couches, his music table and high chair, and he races for the dishwasher whenever he sees it open and has actually climbed up on it once! His cheerful little personality is a light in this house.

His eight month pictures are indoors because it’s still raining!

Looking out on a big, wet world. Ian’s smile is so big and bright! And he wants the camera! Yes, it’s a rainy day. Although he didn’t quite know what the umbrella was all about. We had fun playing peekaboo! And Jerome showed us how he can twirl the umbrella over his shoulder!

I have had the distinct honor and privilege of photographing Byron and Verity’s wedding, spending time with them and calling them friends, and most recently attending the labor of their first born son!

These people are some of the nicest, happiest, and most in love that I know. I enjoy watching them together and am looking forward to seeing them as parents!

Verity, I am amazed at your courage and strength and what you have done. May God bless your growing family and may you see His heart of love every day. Love you, girl!

Verity with eight week old Beau! Beau Schramm!

Thanks to Darrell and Eric who so thoughtfully brought their sleds for the boys to play with, and also for giving up half of their snowboarding time to come play with us, the boys got to experience wonderful snow and the speed of a good downhill slide! Peter drove and drove as far as he could up a mountain until we found a spot with clean, unpacked snow and someplace not too steep. It was a truly wonderful afternoon, but oh, so cold! And the majestic biggness of the world there reminded me how great our God is!

There goes Seth on his first run! Darrell!{First led} Jerome LOVED sledding! Seth hiking back up. Thanks for the boost, Daddy! Eric going down fast! Riding with Daddy was better. :-) Darrell and Jerome! Yes, I went down once with Peter…and a sleeping Ian! Too busy to fix his hat. Good catch, Daddy! “Look, Mommy!
