I didn’t notice Brennan’s face until now…he looks terrified! Peter took Ian up, too. Abby :-) On our way to the car we saw this rescue helicopter making a practice landing on the road which followed the river. Then we drove to Boyden Cavern for an afternoon climbing under the mountain! Jerome got to help crack a geode! which turned out to have beautiful amethyst inside, and Grandma bought it for part of Jerome’s early birthday gift from her. Grandma also bought our family tickets to go in the cavern for Jerome’s birthday! Thank you so much, Mom! Here we go! Looking down to the dry river bed below. It was high enough to stand up straight at this point. These are straw stalactites because they’re hollow inside! Our guide/caveman :-) seated for a bit of history Ian wrapped up in Daddy’s sweater. It was about 50 degrees down there! Anna entertaining the boys while we waited for our group’s turn to see the back of the cave. shells? waves? scallops? I don’t remember which is the name for these, but they’re rare. curtains the lighting was so dramatic. the “Christmas tree”…it was even sparkly! at the end we chose to go out by way of the dry river bed the boys did very well picking their way, and I’m pretty sure they had a blast! daylight! view on our way down That was an amazing experience!

An afternoon at the jumping rock The little ones had a hard time not being able to go out with their daddies, but Grandma made it better. Seth and Zach watching from across the river. Scott’s dive Abby’s dive David’s dive I must have missed Peter’s and Byron’s. The shutter lag still gets me. Grandma and Zachary Seth playing down river. Jerome discovered he could keep his balance up there while twirling the walking stick above his head! Beautiful spot Jane enjoying the river the boys skipping stones the big boys joined in…or did they start it? Seth finding a rock to throw Jerome searching for the perfect skipping stone. Back at the campsite Seth spent quite a few minutes talking to baby Eden and playing with her. We couldn’t stay away from the river for long. This dam was right behind our campsite. and it turned out to be my favorite place of all! the water was shallow and slow enough for wading and safe for the children. the dam was fun to climb on the view and light were amazing and it was just us for a little while. the boys had a race. Get set… Get ready…(or not) and Go! I loved this shot of Ian’s feet on a solid rock with the water rushing by. Jerome’s feet wading Seth’s feet balanced. and look who came out to join us and enjoy the wonderful rocks! she brought her parent’s too :-) It looks like Rebekah’s eating them and Ian’s throwing them. Rock’s are wonderful things! The trail back to the campsite from my favorite river spot.

They asked for a picture, I have no idea what they were doing. :-) I think this was Grizzly Falls. The roar was so loud we had a hard time hearing each other. The Sharratt family There go David and Abby climbing up the falls. You’re adorable, Mom! Peter taking in the majesty. Seth picked his way carefully, though I don’t think he was quite as close as it looks. This river’s cut a long way down! Abby and David made it to the top! Noel and Bekah waiting for daddy to climb back down. are they ever all happy at the same time in front of a camera? later that day at Road’s End. Jerome got a fishing pole and tackle as an early birthday gift! his first fishin’ spot Daddy showing him how Seth testing the water. we moved to a shallower spot so the little ones could wade. Jerome fishing Ian throwing any little pebble he could find. We had to rescue his line from the tree a couple times. self portrait on a river bank Peter cooked up tri tip for Donna’s birthday dinner! This was where you could find me at the campsite. My “princess tent” was also greatly appreciated by the babies! my bugless view the camera couldn’t relaly capture it, but the net diffused the light beautifully.

This was the first time I used my Lumix DMC-zs1 Panasonic. It’s my first point-n-shoot camera and besides the delay (I’m just used to my DSLR) I love it! It’s so much easier to take to the pool or out with the kids rather than lugging my Nikon baby around. Here’s our Fourth of July.

Pool party at Papa’s! Brennan jumping to his Daddy splash! Jerome using flippers Peter with our water bug Ian this is where Seth spent most of his pool time this summer Brennan, another water baby :-) Zach with a smile in the pool! :-) Fireworks. Homemade ice cream. Family. Freedom to worship God! Ian started out in tears, but by the end of the show he was saying “Boom, boom!” and pointing to the fireworks still nervous, but not in tears. Jerome and Seth whooped and hollered the whole show The Lumix has a “fireworks” mode that Peter enjoyed playing with I like the mistake It was a wonderful fireworks display and a great celebration. You are the hope of the nations, Jesus. Thank you for our freedom in You!
