The birthday boy! Seth, you’re an amazing little guy and we thank God for putting you in our family!

A few things I’ve heard Seth say this week:

“Mommy, I just heard my hand buzzing!”  (Seth has a little cold and was leaning his ear on his hand.)

I walked into the kitchen and heard Seth say this while leaning out the screen door…”God, why did you say no?” I asked him what he had asked God and he said “I asked Him if I could have some of His food and He said no.”

He had just watched me swallow some vitamins and said he could hear me swallow them and then exclaimed “If your heart sinks into the water, you would get a new heart!” 🙂

Right down the road from our house is a “Pumpkin Patch” that has mostly rides and activities with pumpkins lying around for purchase. We had told the boys that we were taking them to the Underwood Farm to get pumpkins instead of going to Stu Miller’s, but Aunt Abby took us for a fun morning after we had gotten our pumpkins at the farm. Thank you for the fun times, Abby!

Seth checking out the funny pumpkins. Fun slide! Abby jumping splits on top of the slide! Jumping with the boys Sliding with the boys! Abby’s funny jump :-) SO fun! Abby gave them tickets for the “merry-go-round-spinning-swing-thing”! Seth seemed to be getting terribly dizzy. Making animal noises, too! Abby took the boys into the animal petting. the animals were so tame! I love Seth’s expression. :-) I had no idea chickens _let_ you hold them! Ian’s face made me laugh! One last slide with Ian. And one last try to jump up to the middle line! That was so fun Abby, thank you!

Regina sent me this picture of a plaque that was mailed to our mother last week from the Rugby Hall of Fame!

I had no idea they had nominated Daddy to be inducted to the Rugby Hall of Fame. I think only two nominees get elected every two years.

Somehow it’s a nice surprise when I find that other people remember him, too.

I love cool weather. I love the Autumn. We have a few fruit trees that actually turn colors and lose their leaves and that makes it feel more like Fall for me. The rainy season has it’s joys and challenges for me. Today we enjoyed a pot of bean and barley soup with biscuits for dinner, we stood outside and just BREATHED in the perfume of the clean earth and crisp air, and got to snuggle up together with warm blankets and tea. Then there’s the mud coming in, not only on three boys but the dog, too. 🙂

Seth got Daddy’s big umbrella! Hmmm…not sure what happened to the pants and boots he had on? Ian has the only raincoat, and he’s all set with his pacie! They had the best time just walking up and down the driveway together as the rain came and went. Ian held Jerome’s hand the whole time. :-) I think there were songs being sung, too. :-) safe with big brother Out for one more stroll in the rain before nap time. I had to get my macro out for a few raindrop pictures. And oooh! the smell of the fresh earth and rain is lovely! Jerome told me about this flower “There’s a red flower in it’s bud!”.
