Well, CSUN’s spring semester is over, at least, so we’re celebrating! Peter was home with us all last week after getting back from the east coast and it felt like a real holiday. He had a barbecue on Saturday and a classmate and his family over to help us celebrate. Peter really enjoyed himself! He grilled all afternoon and then got out his chocolate fountain…he’d do it every weekend if we could afford it! It’s nice to see Peter having fun and able to enjoy those around him.
Scott lost his dad today.
Zachary and Brennan lost a grandfather.
Donna lost a father-in-law.
And Shirley lost a husband.
One man touched many lives and is loved so very much.
I love you, Barlow family. Please know that you are all being lifted to the throne of Grace in our prayers.
Hope to hug you soon.
We arrived from Atlanta a little before midnight on Sunday and hugged Pete and Sarah for the first time in six months! We had discussed it before we got there, but I was stilled floored that Pete and Sarah gave us their bedroom and slept on the couch and floor downstairs, and moved their girls into one room for our boys to have the other. They also hosted us on their seventh anniversary, and threw a Memorial Day barbecue! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute with you guys! Missing you so much now, though.
It was Sunday, our last day in Georgia and we were headed out to North Carolina for a couple days before flying home. We all gathered on the front porch for some very last minute pictures together.
It was the first time I’d been with Mama for her birthday in years and Regina and I wanted to throw her a party. We were staying at her house, so we had to be sneaky, but I’m sure she knew something was up! The Bishops came and most of her family came which made it a pretty full house and a fun time! Regina and I had made a pasta bar with three different kinds of pastas and a myriad of toppings that everyone chose from and we sauted their choice in a pan with their sauce of choice. We were so busy that we forgot to serve the Cesar salad, the garlic bread made it to the end of the meal, and the stuffed mushrooms made it to the dessert table, but it was crazy fun! And yummy! I am sad that I didn’t get pictures of everyone, and those I did get were of the people I could grab as they headed out the door! But thanks for coming everyone! And Mama, I hope you had a wonderful and happy birthday and feel special and loved as you are.
