This was Jerome’s first Grand Prix…boy, was he excited! Daddy helped him make his race car, ok, he made it for Jerome with some suggestions. The anticipation has been visibly mounting. The wheels got on just last night, they were oiled just this morning, but the “Speed Demon” (which it came to be called by the judges) was weighed in just in time for the races! His car was easily winning or coming in second on each run and he would have won except it jumped off the track on the last race! Sweet Jerome was thrilled to get a first place award for Design, although his Daddy and I think it was a consolation prize. 🙂 Peter used to make his own cars for the Grand Prix and Jerome enjoyed hearing about his Daddy’s race cars. This was a fun day for both of them!

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith…”
(Hebrews 12:1,2)

Last minute details. Waiting for the races to start! Trophies! You can see Jerome’s car blurred in the lead! I love his face! He’s so excited! :-) Yay! First place! Our happy boy.

“My Lord, I pray that through today
I may walk patiently,
Forgetting not that Thy dear hand
Is leading me.

I know not what Thy wisdom, Lord,
May choose for me today;
What the long hours may hold for me
I cannot say.

I only know that I may go
Unquestioningly with Thee,
Remembering that what Thou wilt
Is best for me.

For Thou, O Lord, canst see the end,
While I but see the way –
Help me to walk it patiently
Throughout today.”
~Grace Noll Crowell

Ian enjoying a glorious day! He’s cutting his first tooth! My sweet Jerome! A day to remember. My precious Seth. “Look, a leave!” Seth’s picture of Ian and I…his expression makes me smile. I like Seth’s pictures! A day to remember for always.

The reason for their trip down from Washington was to visit a very sick Doug, but they cheered him up and he got better so fast that he’s already out of the hospital and back to work! Shawn and Katy spent the afternoon and evening with us at our house, and I have no words for how wonderful it was to have them here again! Katy is so good about calling me and IMing that it felt like we hadn’t missed a beat in each other’s lives. Shawn played with the boys all day while Katy and I visited and he said he made a friend for life with Seth. 🙂

Thank you so much for your time and friendship, and maybe one of these days I can make it up to Washington to see your beautiful new house!

Katy and I with a couple of tired boys.

As they were leaving I let Seth have the camera for the first time…

Seth’s portrait of Shawn and Katy. Seth’s portrait of Shawn. Seth’s portrait of Katy. He was slowly dropping the camera, so she followed him. Seth’s pic of Katy. Seth’s pic of Ian and I. Shawn’s turn with the camera at goodbyes. What a special day! Love you!

My man has worked so hard to build a webserver which runs my website and a fileserver on which I work, and he has enjoyed most of it, as a hobby, but I know some things have frustrated him and have been a real challenge. One of those things that challenged him was the installation of PHP. He figured it out and made notes as he went, then published his steps on his website www.peterguy.com. His notes have gained status as the best php installation guide on the internet and people all over the world e-mail him to say thank you and ask questions, which Peter graciously takes the time to answer!  One of these people told him that, “btw, I googled “php install iis 6″ and your site is the first hit!”

So this is a shout out to my smart man who has taken the time to share his knowledge and make the world a better place…or at least save us from some frustrated geeks. 😉

Love ya Babe!

We were able to drive out to Arizona last year for my long time friend, Caitlin Davis’ wedding! Her parents were some of my parents best friends and she so graciously shared her daddy with me and let him give me away to my husband six years ago. They had never met our sons. Seeing them meant so very much to me and I’m grateful that they shared their time with us on such a busy and monumental weekend in their lives! Their place in my heart is deep and forever.

On the drive to AZ we stopped at the General Patton Museum and saw lots of old tanks! Seth went running from one tank to the next. “More tank? More tank?” And here he said “Mommy, shoot!” :-) “What’s in there?” During the wedding ceremony we sat next to George and Sherry Gruner and Seth (who was two) held and played with George’s hand the entire ceremony. The Easton crowd: Davis’, Walters, and Gruners. Barney and Karen! Zach and Caitlin! I was five months pregnant with Ian…she had never seen me pregnant before. First dance! Father/daughter dance…they sang while they danced. :-) I’m actually thinking of using this one on the back of my business card…what do you think? I LOVE Barney’s expression here! I enjoyed watching them together. Congratulations, Moores! They were gracious to share their last afternoon with their family with us, too. How precious was that day! Karen and Seth were buddies! And this…I have no words. My heart is full.
