{"id":132,"date":"2007-09-13T15:25:06","date_gmt":"2007-09-13T22:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.streetpoet.org\/?p=132"},"modified":"2007-09-13T15:25:06","modified_gmt":"2007-09-13T22:25:06","slug":"summer-day-in-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.streetpoet.org\/index.php\/2007\/09\/summer-day-in-september\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Day in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s not in the hundreds, but it&#8217;s warm enough to swim!<\/p>\n<p>After school work was done and lunch was cleaned up the boys dashed outside into the hottest part of the day and contrived to have a blast until naptime sliding, splashing, spraying each other and surviving.<\/p>\n<p>This is the slide from an old playset that is no more.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/blog.streetpoet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/dsc_6647ps-blog.JPG\" alt=\"dsc_6647ps-blog.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/blog.streetpoet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/dsc_6649ps-blog.JPG\" alt=\"dsc_6649ps-blog.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Seth ended up with quite an array of bruises from this experiment&#8230;he kept slamming into the wall of the pool so I put swim trunks on him and it slowed down his speed. (The slide is too heavy for me to make it stay at the end of the pool.)<\/p>\n<p>Jerome would send down a toy and slide right after it. He figured out how to put the hose on jet and make it go really fast!<\/p>\n<p>And as they dried off in the sun, wrapped in their towels they ate frozen bananas and blueberries and asked what more could they do before naptime&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/blog.streetpoet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/dsc_6650ps-blog.JPG\" alt=\"dsc_6650ps-blog.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>they are both sound asleep. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s not in the hundreds, but it&#8217;s warm enough to swim!
